So that we are able to clean their bed easily. Making an occupied or an unoccupied bed will help the patient remain clean and free from dirt and prevent irritation.
2. How does making a bed help in the fast recovery of our patient?
It aids in reducing some possible ailments from the dirt that will gather in the patient's bed.
3. As a good home nurse, how will you be able to render your services to your patient through bed making?
By making sure that I make their bed properly, and not just effortless. I will provide better comfort by doing my task properly and correctly.
Bathing the Patient
1. Why do you need to give a bath to the patient?
There are six main reasons. They are the following: to cleanse the patient, to make them relax, to stimulate the circulation of blood in their body, to refresh, to serve as a form of an exercise, and last, is to aid in the elimination of certain wastes in the body.
2. What are the materials needed for bed bath or sponge bath?
Two big towels, two small towels, a rubber sheet, a basin with warm water, a light blanket and of course, soap. These are the things need for a sponge bath and a bed bath.
3. What’s the importance of using a urinal or bedpan?
If a patient is bedridden, or too weak to walk, then they have no way to release their wastes if there is no urinal or bedpan.With this, the patient will have a way to release their wastes without forcing themselves to stand up when they really cannot do so.
4. What do you mean by back rub?
It's when you rub someone's back to provide comfort and relaxation. It may also help in aiding the patient and help them recover faster.
5. How do you differentiate cold compress from hot compress?
Cold compress is used to relieve pain or reduce inflammation or used as comfort measure.Hot compress increases circulation locally. It also helps relieves pain and congestion.
